Using Groups on a Windows desktop or laptop is very easy. First download and install the Android Emulator LDPlayer. Then install Groups from the Google Play Store in the emulator

Why not run it as a native Windows Application?

  • Running Groups on an Android Emulator makes it run twice as fast as a stand-alone (Java) application because Android environments are more optimized

  • Large sections of code can be re-used (Push notifications, media editing, SSO) which cuts our development time and adds a layer of stability

  • Our target OS isn't Windows. Groups is a mobile application. We believe that PCs will eventually have to catch up with Mobile, just as Apple now lets you run iOS applications on new Apple Silicon desktops
